Sometimes we just get lucky in life…. Being in the right place at the right time (or something along those lines)
There’s nothing like being in the center of a happening when you’re abroad. Suddenly all the tourist attractions minimize compared to this cultural flow the floods you when attending any local fiesta festivals happen here and there,

Long roads could mean hell for some people and heaven for truckers, hitchhikers and backpackers.
Not that i’m suggesting that staying in a ‘chicken bus’ in a third world country that has no air-con, fan or even windows for 12 hours is tons of fun all the time, but it does puts things in perspective when it comes to our on going ‘whining’ on some discomforts in life.

Many dishes, fruits, sauces and so on… got ‘labeled’ in one way or another. To be honest, I think that rice definitely didn’t get the place of honor in the west as it has in Asia. In the west rice is nothing more then a side dish you eat with other dishes. or at best mix it with something. I guess the whole concept of rice, or ‘the pyramid of rice’ (just made that up) is reversed in Asia, were rice is the main food and the other dishes (such as meat, curries, etc…) come in small quantities and usually on top of the rice.
